This Week at the Market - 7/30/10

The bounty of summer continues! We have lots of fantastic summer veg: sweet corn, potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, squash, eggplant, beans and more. Every week we have fresh eggs and baked goods and locally raised beef, pork and lamb and goat.

This week we welcome back the Temple of Artistic Endeavors with hand-made, mixed media picture trays, bowls and vases.

Farmers' Markets Popularity Increasing

The Frederick News Post reports on the increasing attendance at Frederick County farm markets. Many thanks to Jerry for managing and promoting ours in Brunswick!

"Jerry Cayford attributes the markets' popularity to a consciousness being raised about the importance of helping the local economy and supporting agriculture.

A member of the board of directors of Brunswick Main Street, Cayford has lent a hand in the reorganization of that city's farmers market.

What used to be one booth run by a professional management company has turned into a producer-only market where the farmers sell their goods in person."
